Our Baby Girl is now 10 months old, and simply blossoming this summer of many firsts. She’s starting to stand on her own, say her first words (Ma-Ma, which not only refers to me, but also “more”), and try a plethora of new foods. It was time of course time then, her big brother decided for her, for Baby Girl to try out her first taste of ice cream.
We went to Scooters, in Lakeview, simply the best Frozen Custard establishment in the city.Fresh, top quality ingredients and a friendly, family owned parlor make for a delightful ice cream experience. I enjoyed a hot fudge sundae: creamy vanilla frozen custard topped with decadent hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry. My son, age 9, loved his Dirt Sundae: vanilla frozen custard topped with dirt (OREO cookie crumbs) and worms (gummy, of course).
Baby Girl partook in the free Toddler Cone filled with a swirled scoop of vanilla frozen custard. She was hesitant at first, unfamiliar with such a chilly treat, but after one lick, she was in heaven. Her mini-cone was just the right size for her baby-sized hands, but she ate that cone as quickly as a big girl!
Don’t Miss: A trip to Scooter’s Frozen Custardthis summer!
