Baby giraffe born at Brookfield Zoo [Photo + Video]

We can hardly keep up with all the new baby animals in Chicago.

On June 21, a male giraffe calf was born at Brookfield Zoo at 173 pounds and standing 5-foot-9-inches. That’s one big baby, especially considering mama giraffes give birth standing up after a 14½-month gestation period.

The calf is the 59th giraffe born at the zoo, and has the same father as another giraffe we love, Dave.

Flip through the slideshow of adorable photos provided by Brookfield Zoo, and watch a video of the calf being born below.
