The best family apps to help cure boredom

This summer seems to be flying by lately! With us entering the back-half of July, I suddenly feel like the school year is set to start in no time. I’ve also seen, however, that kids seem to have entered the time where they begin to say, “I’m bored!” with increasing frequency. While we like to limit screen time, I thought now would be a perfect time to feature some of my favorite apps to beat the mid-summer blues and bust some of those boredom questions. I’ve compiled some great ideas from Pinterest to help get you started.

For the Kids

We basically spent 24 hours today playing this app. Seriously though, stop what you’re doing and download DoodleJump. You won’t regret it (but you probably will).

This summer is full of sequels of kids’ movies, why not download FREE apps that coordinate with your favorite animated feature?

Get your kiddos back into the school zone with these Smart Apps for Kids.

For the Moms & Dads

Bring your phone photography to the next level with these picture apps.

Feeling the stretch of your budget ever since vacation? You can actually save money with these penny-pinching apps. I like using them for couponing, price comparison and grocery list creating.

The most recent app that I’ve fall in love with is the Fancy app. Find things you love like this chalk piggy bank, collect it by “Fancying” it, and then buy it – all in one place. It’s basically Pinterest as a shopping mall right in the palm of your hands!

Have you found yourself turning to technology on those super warm days? What apps do you like to allow during your technology time? Share with us over on our Pinterest page.
