6 orange things we love in Chicago

Of course there are hundreds of reasons we love living in Chicago. But just for fall, we’ve really narrowed it down to six orange things in the city to help your family celebrate the season.

We love the Windy City for a lot of reasons. In the fall, there are six orange things that especially stick out on our list.

Pumpkins

Whether you carve them, light them or cook them, these orangeorbs are family fun all in one sometimes-not-so-tidy package. Findslews of pumpkin ideas on our Halloween and Fall pages.

Tigers

Cuddly-looking though they may be, the roars of the tigers inThe Fragile Kingdom at BrookfieldZoo or the Kovler Lion House at Lincoln Park Zoo can give a scare.

The Bears!

Fall means football and Chicago families love the Bears, win or lose. Whether you tailgate or cheer from the
sidelines, the Monsters of the Midway make Chicago cheer.

Goldfish

Our fish came from a store, but you can head to Shedd Aquarium for a slew of orange-hued swimmers. Look for the
eye-popping Garibaldi, the striped flag rockfish and the crazy
lion’s mane jellyfish.

Popcorn

Nothing says Chicago and fall like Garrett’s Popcorn Chicago Mix in its signature
fall 2-gallon tin. Get your own fix at one of Garrett’s 10 Chicago
locations. Yum!

Redheads

We loved working with these kids, left to right, ClaudiaRyder, 4, Chicago; Kate Deenihan, 2, Mt. Greenwood; Emma Spagnoli,8, Monee; Charlie Tracy, 6, Chicago; and Charlie Abernethy, 3, OakLawn. Bottom: Lucas Linder, 4, Evanston.
