6 kids’ products we’re loving in January

A waterless shower in a pinch? We’ll take it, along with these five other ingenious inventions.

Need a quick cleanup? Grab the Qwik Shower Gym Class Wipes. These individually packaged wipes can be thrown in a backpack or gym bag and used to clean up and get refreshed after any activity. Kids can head back to class after P.E. confident they smell fresh. Adults will appreciate a quick wipe down after the gym, too. The wipe is strong and thick and has a very light, pleasant scent. They are sold individually for $1 or in bulk (100 for $49).

A snowball fight must-have

Mummy’s Treasure is a quick-paced, portable board game. The goal is to roll the dice and win pieces by matching symbols to various tiles to fill in your excavation site. The Open It combines five useful tools in one. It opens clamshell packaging with ease, snips twist ties and includes a bottle cap opener, screwdriver and utility blade. Even lefties can use it. I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it cuts open a package, and snipping those annoying twist ties was a snap. It is definitely an all-in-one tool that will get lots of use. Open It is available at major retailers for $9.99. www.enjoyZibra.com.

Kids can learn the importance of saving and have fun with The Zillionaire. This personal savings machine has three separate banks for spending, saving and investing. Your little spender sets up a password to access the money and can set specific savings goals for each account. The bank keeps track of how much is in each account. Our kid tester loved watching his balances grow with each deposit. It takes a bit of set up, so parents will need to help. The Zillionaire, designed for kids 5 and older, retails for $49.99. You can find it at Toys R Us or at www.summittoy.com.
