4 absolutely free fitness communities to join

While some love to escape the chaos at home or the office to go burn off some steam and work up a sweat, others simply don’t have the time or money, or want to be on display. With so many options to get a good workout, you have no excuse not to shed the mom/dad bod by summer. Here are my top four free fitness companions that will keep you motivated and on track.

Tone It Up

Katrina and Karena are the two boss babes behind Tone It Up. You may remember these ladies from their show on Bravo a few years ago. They are silly, motivational and make workouts fun. Fave workouts like strength training, yoga, kickboxing, barre and dance are all at your fingertips. Sign up for free to take advantage of some great perks like weekly workouts (sent to you on Sundays) and daily moves, recipes and more. Don’t forget to download the app for free on Apple iTunes or Google Play, and follow them on Instagram and Twitter! While most of their information is free, there are different membership levels to unlock more goodies in the app within their “studio.” Try it for free first to see if it lives up to your expectations!

POPSUGAR

Known for their fashion and lifestyle content, POPSUGAR also offers fitness-related content and workouts to help you stay on top of the latest trends in fitness apparel, healthy nutrition and more. On their site, their free app Active by POPSUGAR and their channel POPSUGAR TV, you can access workouts likes “My 5 On The Go Exercises! | Busy Mom Workouts | Jenna Dewan” (I’m still upset that she is no longer a Tatum) and “This At-Home Strength-Training Routine Will Make You Feel Like a Badass Ballerina.” (All you need is resistance bands!) They even focus on fitness especially for moms. Can I get an amen!?

Bodyrock.tv

They claim to be your 24-hour fitness pal and offer many tailored programs like the Bootcamp Series (for all different levels) and The Ultimate Workout Plan For Women Over 30. If you’re looking for a no-commitment solution, opt for their channel for absolutely free sweat seshes. Choose from videos like their “Move of the Day” to the “Strong is Sexy” series.

Blogilates

Calling all Pilates fans. Fitfluencer Cassey Ho is the personality and creator of POP Pilates, and was named one of the top five health and fitness influencers in the world. With more than 2.5 million followers in her community, her super fun site takes a new twist on traditional moves, and has even cuter names for the workouts. You can’t be mad at the “Bad at Love Handles” or her “Swimsuit Slimdown.”

Don’t forget these budget home gym essentials:

Dumbbells

Resistance bands (with and without handles)

Yoga mat

Exercise ball

Kettle bell

Foam roller
