Zipline Eco Splash

My 13-year-old daughter and I took the Zipline Eco Splash excursions and it was our absolute favorite excursion of all-time. Participants must be 6 years or older and weigh at least 50 pounds. It’s a full-day outing, leaving the resort at 9:30 a.m. and returning at 5:30 p.m.

You board a bus and travel about a half-hour to Scape Park at Cap Cana, a natural adventure park with cenotes to swim in, waterfalls to walk through, caves to explore and aquatic ziplines to splash through water on.

Your visit is self-guided so you can check out the park at your pace. Hike jungle trails, swing in zipline hammocks into warm water, jump off platforms into the calm, clear waters of cenotes (natural swimming holes found in limestone caves) like the famous Blue Hole. It’s exhilarating and refreshing fun packed in a beautiful setting.

Scape Park also offers animal encounters with monkeys and snakes and photographers to capture your day. Wear a bathing suit and water shoes and don’t forget to bring a phone protector or money holder to store your locker keys and credit card, which you can use for drinks and snacks along the way.

Whale watching

From late January to early April, humpback whales migrate to the warm waters of Samana Bay, an officially protected whale sanctuary near Club Med Miches (1.5 hours away).

You’ll have the chance to see hundreds of the largest marine mammals breach and spout in the bay. Be mesmerized by their graceful displays and captivated when you spot mother whales and newborn calves gliding through the waters. This is a half-day excursion for those ages 6 and up.

Dominican colors

Discover the tropical fruits, coffee, chocolate and cigars that drive the Dominican economy on the Dominican Colors excursion. Immerse in the local colors and culture by visiting coffee and cocoa plantations as well as a nearby village.

This half-day guided trip is recommended for families with kids over age 1. It includes drinks, transfers and a taste of the traditions.

Lobster cruise

Savor a coastal cruise that departs from Club Med’s beach and culminates with an onboard lobster lunch. Swim, snorkel and waterslide right off the boat into the stunning, turquoise waters of Tortuga Bay and shallow natural pool of Juanillo.

This relaxing, half-day excursion can also be privatized for your group. Great for children 3-years-old and above.

Esmerald Quad Adventure

If your family includes adrenaline-fueled tweens and teens, this ATV tour might be for you. Those ages 18 and above can drive on rural mud roads and along deserted beaches while passengers ages 10 and up appreciate the ocean breeze on this half-day Miches excursion.
