Mark your calendar for Target’s car seat trade-in

If your family has upgraded or out-grown a car seat, Target will happily take the old one for a coupon toward new baby gear.

Target’s Car Seat Trade-In event begins April 22, on Earth Day, and runs through May 4, allowing families to drop old and un-used car seats into bins where they’ll be collected and recycled. The program accepts all types of seats — including those that are expired or damaged — and their bases.

After trading in your old seat, Target will swap for a 20 percent off coupon that can be used for gear like a new car seat or base, travel system, stroller, playards, high chairs, swings, rockers and bouncers. Coupons are good through May 11.

Since the program launched in April 2016, Target has recycled more than 7.4 million pounds of materials through half a million car seats. Find a Target near you.
