In the heart of Chicago’s Gold Coast, The Talbott Hotel is pulling out all the stops to give Chicago kids a dream staycation experience.

Dolls are, of course, welcomed guests during your stay. In your room when you arrive is a welcome letter, addressed to both your child and their doll, and personalized stationery — write a fun letter to Grandma and have the hotel mail it out!
Even cooler than the stationery are the mini bed (which can convert into a seat) and the cutest doll-sized robe and slippers set; best of all, they are yours to keep!
After unpacking, head down to the lobby for a quick photoshoot with the hotel’s concierge. This is a great opportunity to show off matching pajama sets if you have them!
Grab dinner at 20 East, the on-site restaurant which serves a wide variety of American fare, but make sure to skip dessert. By the time you make it back to your room, milk and cookies will be waiting.
After a restful night’s sleep, wake up to breakfast in bed and make plans for the quick five-minute walk to the American Girl Store. Or, if the weather is cooperating, get help from the concierge with planning a horse and carriage ride!
If you’ve never visited the American Girl Store, it’s difficult to imagine its vastness. The place is huge, and admittedly, a little intimidating. Luckily, the Talbott provides you with your own personal shopper to guide you through the experience. If you can make a request, do so for Tracy. She is as sweet as can be, and with close to 20 years under her belt at AG, she is a wealth of knowledge on both the brand and the store. Did you know it used to be located directly across from the Park Hyatt hotel before moving to its current location at Water Tower Place?
One message American Girl has for young girls and boys is to dare to dream big. After a stay at the Talbott, it seems easier than ever to do just that.
