Get a little bit country at Farm & Barn Fest in Mokena

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? The Mokena Park District is hosting its 13th annual Farm & Barn Fest. The fest started more than 12 years ago with hopes of bringing families closer together on a farm setting.

This yearโ€™s fest will offer country-themed games, numerous demonstrations, tractor photo opportunities, a free concert and Cutest Baby/Kid contest. And, for the first time ever, the fest will also host country-themed bingo games for all ages, giving your family the opportunity to win some really great prizes.

There is no entrance fee, but there are fees for certain activities such as the petting zoo, horseback rides and face painting.

What kids will love about the fest:

The opportunity to win great prizes

The Cutest Baby/Kid contest

Photo ops with tractors

Giant bounce houses and slides

The Donut on a Stick contest and Milk Chugging contest

What adults will love about the fest:

Blacksmith demonstrations

Bingo

Watermelon eating contest

Free concert

Making family memories without breaking the bank

Recently, I spoke to Rebecca Phetteplace who is the Recreation Supervisor of Special Events & Trips at the Mokena Park District. She encourages parents to enter their babies and kids in the Cutest Baby/Kid contestย because there will be a lot of great prizes up for grabs!
