Bixler Park

  • Address: 5641 S. Kenwood, Chicago

This little gem in Hyde Park offers a more secluded play best for younger kids. The park’s amenities include two play structures, a sandbox, train, swings, slides and a spray feature for those hot summer days. There’s also a junkyard type area near the playground where parents leave toys that are ready to be loved by new owners.

Promontory Point

Known to locals as “The Point,” this lawn offers a beautiful view of the skyline and is the perfect place for a picnic. Nearby, lids will love to play at the playground in the area, featuring a large play structure — our favorite has to be the bright, green racing car on a spring!

Nichols Park

  • Address: 1355 E. 53rd Street, Chicago

Nichols Park boasts two playgrounds for both the older and younger set. The east side of the park caters to older kiddos. Rather than a traditional play structure, this playground is a collection of various climbing elements and a zipline.
