What Chicago families need to know about Monster Jam

Your family’s guide to the loudest, biggest and most unforgettable show of the season.

Monster Jam is roaring back into the Chicago area from Feb. 27–March 1, 2026, bringing three days of high‑energy, family‑friendly action to the Allstate Arena in Rosemont. Families can expect gravity‑defying stunts, roaring engines and plenty of opportunities to meet the drivers and see the trucks up close.

This year’s show is called “Freestyle Mania”, where trucks will accompany motocross bikes on awesome stunts that will get your adrenaline pumping.

What families should expect

If your child loves big vehicles, loud noises or action sports, this is a can’t‑miss event. You’ll see iconic trucks like Grave Digger, El Toro Loco and Sparkle Smash. The high‑energy competition is designed to keep kids and adults on the edge of their seats while you watch freestyle motocross riders performing synchronized stunts with the trucks.

But be aware that it’s a sensory‑rich environment. There will be loud engines, bright lights and big jumps, so ear protection is a good idea. Over-ear headphones are recommended.

Monster Jam days can be long, especially if you attend the optional add-on events to get up close and personal with the trucks and drivers. Families should plan ahead for snacks and downtime. Concessions are available on-site but can be pricey. Parking is free at the arena but arrive early to avoid long lines.

Family-friendly add-ons

If your kids want to meet real drivers and see trucks up close, Monster Jam also offers tickets to Pit Parties and Post‑Event Driver Meet and Greets.

On Saturday and Sunday morning from 10:30 a.m.–noon, families can join the Pit Party with a special ticket available for purchase in advance. There, you can see the 12,000‑pound trucks up close, take photos and get autographs from drivers and pit crews, explore hands‑on activities and learn how Monster Jam trucks are built.

Want a more intimate experience with the drivers? The Post-Event Meet-and-Greet includes photos with drivers, autographs and a souvenir. The meet-and-greet starts about 15 minutes after the conclusion of the show and is limited to about 50 people per session. Tickets are available in advance.

A weekend at Monster Jam tends to stick with kids long after the engines cool, and this year’s Chicago stop promises the same wide‑eyed excitement. If your family is looking for a high‑energy outing that blends spectacle, skill and pure joy, this is an easy win on the winter calendar.
