Best Toy Stores Worth the Visit for Naperville Families

Kids will love to explore one of these toy shops!

In today’s digital world of phones, tablets and video games, it’s rare to see children playing with good, old-fashioned toys. But luckily, there are a few toy stores still around in the Naperville area that can re-ignite your child’s imagination and take them away from the screens. Here are some of them.

Anderson’s Toyshop

After stocking toys at Anderson’s Bookshop for more than 50 years, the Anderson family decided to open Anderson’s Toyshop as separate, downtown Naperville fixture. Now known as the area’s one stop shop for toys, the family-owned store offers a great selection of high- quality toys, games, crafts and puzzles. Toylines include well-known favorites like Gund, Jellycat, Playmobil, Lego, International Playthings, Ravensburger, and Melissa & Doug.

Treasures

Parent Mike Kristula was in search of a space to pull his kids away from screens and encourage social interaction. In 2020, he opened Treasures, a Naperville storefront that sells interesting toys, games, and personalized and handmade goods that you can’t find anywhere else. His toy recommendations are top-notch, as his own kids — his toy testers — have given everything at Treasures their stamp of approval.

Oswald’s Pharmacy

Naperville’s oldest toy shop, Oswald’s has been Naperville’s go to for toys for more than 145 years. They carry an expansive selection from major brands like Lego, Melissa & Doug, and Mad Libs to more unique lines like Green Toys, Geo Central, eeBoo, and more. Oswald’s family-owned team of toy buyers attend toy shows around the country every year to bring Naperville the best new and unique toys, puzzles, and games.

Moore Toys & Gadgets

This charming store in historic Downtown Wheaton has a wonderful selection of high-quality, unique gadgets, toys, games and puzzles with a special focus on STEM. They offer a vast selection of microscopes, botany kits and robotics toys. While toy stores can often be overwhelming, Moore’s is sectioned out by age and interest so parents and kids can easily find age-appropriate gifts. Moore also offers same-day delivery to nearby addresses.
