It’s game on at ComedySportz Chicago as it celebrates its 30th anniversary. From fun activities, special guests, new shows and party favors, the Chicago institution of improv believes comedy should be for everybody and so it is throwing open its doors for some special shows.
Even Chicago Parent’s own bloggers — Keely Flynn and Shannan Younger — are getting in on the ComedySportz action. See them each take a ComedySportz “team” during a free family night out 5-7 p.m., Thursday, July 20. RSVP to rsvp@2momsmedia.com.
If you can’t make Thursday, ComedySportz is hosting its anniversary shows Aug. 17 and Aug. 19 featuring alumni cast members, funny photo booths and giveaways. Tickets to the shows for 8 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 17, and 6 p.m., 8 p.m., and 10 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 19 are available at cszchicago.com. A portion of proceeds will benefit Funny Bones, a group that brings laughter and hope to the families at Ronald McDonald House.
