Illinois earns fall bragging rights with two pumpkin patches ranked among the nation’s most underrated autumn destinations.

Two Illinois pumpkin patches have received national attention this fall being named one of the Top 20 most underrated pumpkin patches in the United States.

The list comes from SIXT car rental and was based on Google review scores, season opening dates, search demand, and TikTok engagement.

Both Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm in Lockport and Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm in Waukegan made the list.

Siegel’s Cottonwood Farm in Lockport stands out at No. 3 on the national list. The family-run operation opened its fall season on Sept. 20 and has earned a 4.2-star average on Google Reviews. With over 14,000 online searches and 922,600 TikTok views, this destination draws both locals and visitors looking to wander pumpkin fields, explore a challenging corn maze and take in seasonal treats and hayrides — all against a backdrop of celebratory autumn fun.

Kroll’s Fall Harvest Farm in Waukegan came in at No. 17. It opened for the season on Sept. 20, boasts a 4.7-star Google rating and inspires thousands of searches and content shares throughout the region. It’s a fall favorite for families seeking a fun pumpkin-picking experience.
