Santa can be found near the Christmas Around the World exhibit at MSI.
Based in suburban Brookfield, Mold-A-Rama maintains nearly 30 machines in and around the Chicago area. During the year, machines can be found at both local zoos — Brookfield and Lincoln Park — as well as the Museum of Science and Industry and The Field Museum. During the holidays, some of those machines are swapped out to bring in festive molds for seekers to take home the iconic wax souvenirs.
Museum of Science and Industry
Just in time for the Christmas Around the World and Holidays of Light, MSI has swapped in a pair of molds. Incoming are a Red Santa and Green Holiday Tree, both are emblazoned with “Happy Holidays” and “Museum of Science and Industry” on the bases. They can be found near the Christmas exhibit on the main floor.
Brookfield Zoo
The zoo has swapped out its Halloween molds in time for Holiday Magic that begins Nov. 30. Brookfield Zoo houses five holiday molds: Silver Choir Girl Angel, Red Santa, Pink Reindeer, Green Holiday Tree and Blue Kewpie Doll. Some of these colors are different from those at the zoo in 2018.
The reindeer can be found inside the seven seas underwater viewing with Santa in the same area. The remaining holiday molds – the choir girl, Kewpie doll and tree – are east of the reptiles and birds building.
