Spicy shrimp dish a dinner win

MasterChef Junior Season 5 contestant Kamryn Chasnis shared one of her favorite recipes — Spicy Shrimp Lettuce Boat with Mango Salsa Picada — at Kids Eat Chicago. It’s too good not to try it yourself at home.

Ingredients

15-20 shrimp

Lettuce for boats

Salsa (cut into bite-sized pieces ahead of time): Avocado, Jalapeno, Tomato, Onion, Mango

For spice mixture:

1 ½ tsp. paprika

1 ½ tsp. brown sugar

1 tsp. oregano

¾ tsp. garlic powder

½ tsp. salt

½ tsp. cumin

¼ tsp. cayenne

Directions

Put oil in a cast iron pan. Heat.

Toss shrimp in spice mixture, then cook in the cast iron pan.

When shrimp are finished cooking, set aside to cool a bit.

Assemble lettuce boats with shrimp and salsa.
