Chicagoland has amazing attractions with holiday lights, but there’s something special about seeing our neighbors join in on the festive fun. Luckily, there are some creative residents in the city and suburbs that turn their homes into incredible holiday displays.

This season, take a drive around town to see some of our favorite holiday decorations from the comfort of your car. For even more cozy holiday fun, check out these drive-thru light shows in Chicagoland.

Neighborhood holiday lights in north/northwest suburbs

Jahn Christmas 

  • Address: 5 Ashford Court, Buffalo Grove

Make sure to turn your radio to 94.5FM and watch more than 10,000 lights dance to the music. See the display every night from 5-10 p.m.

Lights on Revere

  • Address: 45 Revere Drive, South Barrington

The nearly 30-minute light show how includes cheerful holiday songs that will wow the family. Hours are 5-10 p.m. with extended hours during Christmas week. Tune into 92.1FM to listen to music alongside the lights show.

Lights on Rockville 

  • Address: 244 Rockville Lane, Gilberts

This neighborhood street featuring six houses goes all out with a dancing Christmas light display. This year, the family is raising money for two children fighting pediatric cancer. Guests can park in the parking lot and walk through the lit-up arches to experience the amazing lights up close.

Sandberg Christmas Display

  • Address: 391 Walnut Lane, Elk Grove Village

Prepare to be delighted to see all the friendly seasonal characters that take over this family’s lawn. Be sure to turn your radio to 106.1 FM to listen to their singing choir. Lights are on Monday to Sunday 4-10 p.m. (weather permitting).

Neighborhood holiday displays in the south suburbs

Clark W. Griswold House of Bridgeview

  • Address: 7807 W. 74th Place, Bridgeview

Jim Pavel is a third-generation lawn decorator, earning him the nickname of the Clark W. Griswold of Bridgeview. Pavel’s computerized light show syncs to popular Christmas tunes that you can listen to from the comfort of your car radio. The display runs from 4-10 p.m.

While you’re in Bridgeview, stop by Pavel’s parents’ house — which he also decorates — at 7416 S Octavia Ave., Bridgeview.

Esposito Christmas Lights

  • Address: 16423 Parliament Ave., Tinley Park

The Esposito family has been decorating for more than 30 years! Make sure your kiddos write to Santa and drop their letters off by the week before Christmas! Lights are on from 4:30-10 p.m. every day until Jan. 3.

Fight Hunger with Lights 

  • Address: 3332 Lynwood Drive, South Chicago Heights

The Kaminski family has kept this Christmas tradition in the South Suburbs for more than 45 years. Drive down to see the elaborate display and drop off some non-perishable food that is then donated to a local pantry. 

Hirsch Christmas Lights

  • Address: 7805 Nottingham Drive, Tinley Park

This Christmas display by the Hirsch family has almost 100,000 lights and more than 7,000 feet of garland. There are lot of photo opportunities, too. 

Tinley Park Christmas House

  • Address: 17321 Avon Lane, Tinley Park

The Kowalczyk family goes all out for the holidays with their light display. Proceeds from donations go to Together We Cope. Swing by from 5-10 p.m. daily to see the lights.

Candy Cane Canyon Trail 

  • Address: 370 Canyon Trail, Carol Stream

You might recognize this house from Halloween as the spooky Canyon Trail Cemetery. See the elaborate holiday decorations, including their life-sized gingerbread house this year. They’re accepting food donations for the Humanitarian Service Project and monetary donations for Just Giants Rescue, Inc.

Fillipp Family Exterior Illuminations

  • Address: 39 W. Madison St., Villa Park

Take a drive out to spot the variety of Christmas decorations, which will be lit up every evening from 5:30-11 p.m. Bring along a toy donation to support Toy Express Children’s Charity.

Hughes Digital Christmas

  • Address: 2S231 Valley Road, Lombard

Here’s another fun holiday light show in the western suburbs! Check their Facebook Page for their music lineup varying from classic, modern and more holiday songs.

Lights on Easton 

  • Address: 1214 Easton Drive, Carol Stream

This light display has a mailbox for kids to mail their letters to Santa. The big guy will also be there for visits on select days throughout the holiday season. Lights are on from dusk until 10 p.m. on weeknights and 11 p.m. on weekends.

Lights on Ekman

  • Address: 969 Ekman Drive, Batavia

This holiday display features about 70,000 lights and plays 20 songs. Make sure to turn to 99.1FM when you arrive. They are collecting donations for Batavia Mothers’ Club Foundation.

Oswego Lights

  • Address: 701 N. Sparkle Court, Oswego

Tune your radio to 88.3FM and enjoy a holiday display with more than 50,000 RGB lights synchronized to music.

Schiffer’s Shining Christmas 

  • Address: 4113 Williams St., Downers Grove

You may have known this house for their Halloween display, Schiffer’s Halloween Insanity. The display is set to music and you can tune into 88.3FM.

Sherman Family Display

  • Address: 735 S. Brainard, La Grange

Tune your radio to 89.1FM and watch the Sherman’s holiday display light up to music. The show runs from 4:30-10:30 p.m. daily. They are fundraising for The Legacy Guild.

The Believe House in Naperville

This house is an official Salvation Army donation location. See this light show by the Brambilla family runs every night from 4:30-10:30 p.m.
