Swim with mermaids

Then grab your tails and swim on over to Dolphin Swim Club’s Mermaid University in Crystal Lake where you and your little sea lover will learn basic mermaid skills, such as floating on your backs, twirling and gliding, plus more advanced skills. No matter what skill level, everyone will learn to stay safe around water.
Practice a little ohm
Namaste! If you love yoga or have been meaning to try it out, bring your little one with you to OhmMother Yoga in Algonquin where you and your mini can learn yoga fundamentals through poses, songs and games.
Try to get a strike
Challenge each other to a game at Pinstripes in South Barrington where kids can bowl for only $3. And yes, parents are free. With bumpers and bowl aimers to help the littles, your bowler will be sure to score a few points. Mom tip: Order food off the menu; it’s delicious!
Get pampered
Do you have a girly girl? Pink, Pearls, and Girly Girls is Crystal Lake’s newest place for anyone who loves to be pampered. Although they specialize in parties, they often have special events like an upcoming Mom and Me event on May 20. Moms and daughters can get their nails done while wearing pink robes and slippers, then they’re off to a photo shoot.
Get a sweet treat
If you love sweets treats as much as my daughter and I do, then have a special treat at The Heart of Europe Café in downtown Barrington. Watch as they make kurtos, a sweet doughy treat that can be covered in your choice of topping such as Oreo crumbles or sugar. For a super special touch, have them fill the inside of your kurtos with ice cream or cotton candy!
