Chicago Parent summer mom makeovers: July

Last month we introduced the first installment of the Chicago Parent Magazine mom makeover with local mom Virginia. This week we are back at it and this time we took our video camera along for the ride.

This month’s winner is Shavonne Gillette, a stay-at-home mom of two who was very deserving of the #CPMOMMAKEOVER!

With the help of stylist and boutique owner Tamika Price, as well as makeup artist Jasmine from Crystal Eyez Makeup, we were able to revamp Shavonne’s look.

The day started at Standout Style boutique (1419 West Belmont St.) in Chicago where we met with the rest of our team and laid out the glam plan.

With Tamika and I on styling duties assisted by Lauren; and Jasmine on makeup, Shavonne was ready to be made over.

Jasmine started with a simple makeup look that can easily transition from day to night – soft gold eye shadow, accentuated eyebrows and a soft lip color.

Once makeup was completed, we styled Shavonne in her first look. The concept? Getting her dressed for a night out on the town with her girlfriends!

For this look, Tamika selected a cream colored blazer paired with a black and white peplum top. A pair of denim and wedged heels completed the look.

For the second look we opted for something a little dressier; we went with a sky blue dress which worked wonders for Shavonne’s skin tone. The dress was accentuated with simple accessories, perfect for date night with the hubby.
