Insider tips to enjoy HoverPark

  • Wear comfortable, flat shoes.
  • Schedule your session online, and fill out all the waivers, too, so you avoid having to do it when you arrive.
  • Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled session for training.
  • After your first scan, your 60-minute timer has started. You have an hour to enjoy the tracks.
  • Best time to visit? The first two sessions and the last two sessions of the day seem to be the least busy. Avoid Tuesdays because sessions are and will be busier.

While we were being checked in at the cool hoverboard-shaped counter, we couldn’t help look at all the people hovering effortlessly on the nearby tracks. Talk about intimidating! After receiving our wristbands and helmets, we were ready for our one-on-one training session. My ever-so courageous 6-year-old happily volunteered to be the first one to give it a go. He was strapped into a harness and taught the basics of how to get on (similar to stepping on stairs). After a few minutes, he had the hang of it, was wobbling less and less, and pretty soon, he didn’t even need the harness.

It was the same story with my 5-year-old son, except he was much more reluctant to try. But like his older brother, after a few minutes with our hoverboard expert, he was confident enough to try it on his own. He even exclaimed, “This is so easy.” Hah!

I have to admit, it was easier than I thought, and I couldn’t get enough.

Ready, set, hover!

After we completed our training, we were released into the wild — the hoverboards were waiting for us at the tracks. With different, timed tracks, we enjoyed challenging one another.  Just scan your wristband, the timer will start, and the electronic scoreboard will display your score. But for those who want to take it easy, they can enjoy the open area without any obstruction. Ever played basketball on a hoverboard? Well, you’ll have a chance to test your skills and balance at HoverPark.

The kids had so much fun zipping through the tracks, whether it was the obstacle course, timed track or open-play area. They never wanted to get off those hoverboards! As the day got busier, so did the lines for the tracks, which is understandable, but you only have an hour of admission time to enjoy the park.  And believe me, that hour will fly by!

The bottom line

Everything about our experience was excellent, from the training to riding the hoverboard. The kids had a blast, and for that hour, it definitely was the greatest place on Earth.
