Jinglefest at the Chicago French Market
When: Dec. 15
Where: 131 N. Clinton St., Chicago
Fans of the Chicago French Market love the 30+ vendors in the European-inspired marketplace, embodying the best of Chicago’s best local and family-owned food purveyors in a year ‘round setting. Kids, however, will thrill for Jinglefest, a free, family-friendly event that’ll have holiday spins on food and gifts for sale, a Mrs. Claus balloon twister and even complimentary photos with Santa himself. Quelle fête!
The Chicago Art Girls Pop-Up Shop
When: Dec. 15-16
Where: Bell Elementary School, 3730 N. Oakley Ave., Chicago
There’s so much to love about the Chicago Art Girls’ annual pop-up shop; over 40 women artists in one space, a fun shopping experience featuring handmade goods, free admission (and parking!), 5 artisan food purveyors, and raffled artwork that benefits the Common Pantry. (Since their inception, the Chicago Art Girls have raised over $12k for the community.) Giving back and getting your gift on? Picture perfect.
Randolph Street Holiday Market
When: Dec. 14-15
Where: 1341 W. Randolph St., Chicago
You’re going to want to rest up for this one— it’s a biggie. Three floors, 125 vendors, and a gigantic mix of vintage gifts, modern decor, housewares, fashion, and everything else you hadn’t known you’d needed. General admission is $10 (free for kids under 12), but with free onsite parking and a market bar serving Bloody Marys and champagne, plus live music, we think it’s a pretty good investment.
Revolution Craft Show
When: Dec. 15
Where: Revolution Brewing Tap Room, 3340 N. Kedzie Ave., Chicago
If you like your art and holiday shopping interspersed with a healthy mix of food trucks and brews, we’ve got a craft show for you. Free to enter, this event at the Revolution Tap Room (the one on Kedzie, not the restaurant on Milwaukee) showcases the work of more than 40 local artists. And you heard the part about the beer, right?
Christkindlmarket
When: Through Dec. 24 (Through Dec. 31 at Wrigleyville)
Where: Chicago & Wrigleyville
Our city’s largest open-air holiday market, what began in 1996 as a German-inspired celebration is a Chicagoland tradition. Not only are the wares unparalleled (handblown ornaments and miniature glass animals, anyone?), but the food is top notch and the beverages—served in collectible mugs—cause a bit of a frenzy each season.
Winter Wonder Market
When: Through Dec. 24
Where: Chicago
Navy Pier’s Fifth Third Bank Family Pavilion transforms into an all-new holiday market with Chicago-centric gives, seasonal treats and food. Plus, there’s live entertainment and even photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus on select dates.
