Dickens in Dundee

Dec. 5-Dec. 6

For a weekend full of small-town fun, head over to East Dundee and West Dundee to celebrate Dickens in Dundee. Formed in 1988 as a small community gathering has grown into a popular weekend holiday festival full of activities including a display of living windows throughout downtown, carriage rides, Victorian Carolers, a large petting zoo, gingerbread contests and displays, and a number of community open houses with treats, family activities and multiple chances to see Santa Claus.

Barrington Aglow – Santa’s Arrival in Barrington

Santa is arriving to Barrington and the whole town is preparing for his arrival with six special events throughout the day including a petting zoo, a chance to explore Barrington fire truck, treats and a storytime with Mrs. Claus, cookie decorating, giant gingerbread people, free carriage rides and so much more! Catch all the action by hopping on the trolley to bring you to each event. The best part – it’s all free!

Christmas in the Valley

Celebrate the holidays with a trip back to the 1880s in Schaumburg at Spring Valley’s Christmas in the Valley. See how German-American farm families in 19th century Schaumburg celebrated Christmas and meet St. Nicholas while listening to 19th century holiday music and making crafts.

Holiday Bricktacular at LEGOLAND Discovery Center Chicago

Dec. 6-Jan. 4

Celebrate the holidays at LEGOLAND Discovery Center with the Holiday Bricktacular. Take a photo op with life-sized Santa and Snowman LEGOs. Check out the winter-themed MINILAND and enjoy holiday games.
