For Independence Day 2024, Chicagoland residents are celebrating with tons of Fourth of July fireworks displays and fun events – all you have to do is find the right one for you and your family.

Ever since I can remember, my parents took me to see my hometown fireworks and I always do the same with my son, Jordan. We try to make it to a few different fireworks displays because there are always fun activities at the events beforehand.

Navy Pier’s Official 4th of July Fireworks Show

Step aboard the Fred A. Busse to catch the official 4th of July Fireworks Show at Navy Pier. Chicago Fireboat Tours will host their special fireworks cruise so you have one of the best views of the show, right on the water.

Chicago Fire FC Fireworks Night

July 3, 2024

Come out to Soldier Field to watch Chicago play Philadelphia at Fireworks Night, which is provided by American Place Casino.

4th on 53rd Parade and Free Festival

July 4, 2024

The day will begin at 11 a.m. with the parade and feature floats, community groups, marching bands and kids on decorated bikes and scooters. Afterwards, there will be a free festival at noon with performances, face painting, bounce houses, petting zoo, magician and much more.

Civic Season | Independence Day

Evanston’s 4th of July Celebration

July 4, 2024

Evanston’s 4th of July Celebration’s theme for 2024 is “Seeds of Change.” The parade will feature bands, drill teams and more. Fireworks will take place at 9:30 p.m.

Glenview Fourth of July

July 4, 2024

Join the Fourth of July celebrations with a bike parade, floats music with live DJ, live entertainers, food vendors and more. End the evening with a fireworks show, synchronized to music in Galley Park.

Lake Forest Festival and Fireworks

July 4, 2024

This event features musical entertainment and a firework display on the North Shore, set to patriotic music.

Schaumburg Boomers vs Ottawa Titans

July 4, 2024

See the Schaumburg Boomers take on the Ottawa Titans on Fourth of July. Enjoy a fireworks display post-game. Fans can take pictures with Coop the mascot and enjoy giveaways throughout the game. The first 1,500 fans will receive a patriotic Boomers Baseball cap.

Evergreen Park’s Independence Day Parade

  • Address: Downtown Evergreen Park area
  • Cost: Free

The parade starts at 95th and Springfield, proceeds east to Richmond, and ends at 91st. Fireworks will follow at dusk at Duffy Park.

Independence Day Parade & Cookout Celebration

June 29, 2024

The parade begins at noon at Liberty Memorial Park and concludes at Lake View Community Park. Bring lawn chairs, tents and grills for a post parade cookout. 

4th of July Parade

July 4, 2024

  • Address: Downtown Homewood area
  • Cost: Free

The route of the parade begins at St. John Neumann Church and travels east along Ridge Road, finishing at Izaak Walton Preserve. Post-parade activities include games, entertainment and delicious summer fare.

Independence Celebration

July 4, 2024

Families can celebrate Independence Day at Centennial Park West with a concert featuring How Rude, Presentation of Colors and fireworks. Bring lawn chairs, snacks, beverages and a blanket.  

Fourth of July Fireworks and Events in the Western Suburbs

Aurora Fourth of July Fireworks

July 3, 2024

Join the city of Aurora for their annual firework show with the theme, “City of Lights” this year. DJ Suave Smooth will be spinning at RiversEdge and DJ Pena will be spinning at McCullough Park. Wilder Park and Promenade will host a food truck court beginning at 5 p.m. You can also enjoy their Fourth of July parade the next day.

Glen Ellyn 4th of July Parade & Festival

July 4, 2024

Downtown Glen Ellyn will host their 4th of July Parade at noon with music, floats and American pride. Later in the evening, head to Lake Ellyn Park to see their fireworks display at dusk.

The Naperville Salute

July 5-7, 2024

This family-friendly Independence Day celebration is centered around appreciating veterans, active Military, first responders and their families.
