Calling all foodies! If you’re anything like me and have the hardest time choosing what to get a restaurant because you want it all then your foodie problems are solved. Try a flight instead!
No longer reserved for beer or wine, food flights offer you the chance to try a few different things like ice cream, French toast of even pizza. They really are a foodie’s best friend. Lucky enough, we have some amazing flight options in Chicago and the suburbs.

Milk and cookies flight at JoJo’s Shake Bar
JoJo’s is all about milk shakes, but did you know that they have freshly-baked cookies too? Their flight changes based on what gourmet cookies are available, but you’ll love the house-made infused milks.
Mini waffle flight at Eat at Syrup

Anything you try here is sure to be a hit (ahem… the chicken and waffles dish is so good!) But an absolute must for families is their waffle flights. Each flight includes four of each of their signature flavors — raspberry mascarpone, bonanza, Maui and chocolate chip bacon.
Deep dish flight at Buddyz
Love deep dish pizza? The deep dish pizza flight at Buddyz is a great way to try out a few of their signature flavors. Choose from 3 or 4 different deep dish pizzas. The 10-inch pizzas are a great way to be adventurous without committing to a full-size pizza. For another flight option, try their waffle flights.
French toast flight at Batter and Berries

Head to this Chicago hot spot in Lincoln Park for their world-famous French Toast flight. The batter dipped brioche comes in four different flavors — strawberry, blueberry, lemon, and caramel. It’s worth the wait!
Gelato flight at Mozzafiato Gelato and Coffee

Homemade gelato is the name of the game at Mozzafiato. Choose six of your favorite flavors of gelato along with two toppings. Adults can also enjoy a cup of coffee. For a fitting option make sure to get an affogato, a coffee topped with gelato, of course! They also have a mouthwatering selection of pastries like cannoli, macarons, and cinnamon rolls.
Mac and cheese flight at Digs on Canal

Who doesn’t love mac and cheese? At Digs on Canal, you can enjoy three different skillets of white cheddar and onion mac, BBQ pork mac and Tuscan chicken mac.
Ice cream flight at Capannari Ice Cream
- Address: 10 S. Pine St., Mount Prospect
Capannari is one of the best ice cream shops in the area and it’s always tough choosing which flavor to try. With their ice cream flight, you don’t have to narrow it down that much. Pick four different flavors to sample.
Waffle flight at Windhill Pancake Parlor
- Address: 3307 W. Elm St., McHenry
You won’t find this waffle flight anywhere on the menu. Make sure to request the “Original Waffle Flight.” The flight includes four signature waffles. Adults will enjoy the mimosa flight with four different mimosas including a blue raspberry, cherry sangria, tropical mango, and peach strawberry. Yum!
Coffee flight at Eastside Cafe

Stay caffeinated with a coffee flight from this Dundee cafe. Choose your four favorite flavors or the monthly specials. Flights come hot or iced. They also happen to be a wine bar so grab a bottle of wine for later!
Ice cream sandwich flight at Creamery

Great for families that can’t decide on one ice cream flavor. Choose five flavors of ice cream and they will be set between flat chocolate cookies. Flavors vary depending on the store location. Also, be sure to try their mini pie packs, too.
Bacon flight at Wake ‘n Bacon

Try a unique flight with their in-house cured and smoked bacons – Maple Peppercorn, Tocino and Tajin. Try some of their Berry Bliss crepes, La Vida Dulce French toast or Ube pancakes with your bacon.
Guacamole flight at Mercadito

Try this Mexican restaurant with three different flavors of guacamole to try. Try all three or choose between a mango guacamole, guacamole with chilis and traditional guacamole. They also have ten tacos to choose form, quesadilla, flautas and more.
Beverage flight at Fairgrounds Coffee & Tea

Create your own beverage flight. Choose three 4oz. pours of coffee, tea or Kombucha on tap. Try their famous funnel cake fries while you’re there.
Seafood roll flights at Luke’s Lobster City Hall
- Address: 134 N. La Salle St., Chicago
This restaurant is located in the Metropolitan Building. They offer a trio of 2-ounce seafood rolls – including a lobster roll, crab roll and shrimp roll. They also offer a lobster roll flight on their seasonal menu that has a 2-ounce lemon butter roll, 2-ounce truffle butter roll and a 2-ounce spicy honey butter roll.
Salsa and guacamole flights at Barrio
- Address: 65 W. Kinzie St., Chicago
Try the guacamole flight at this Mexican restaurant. The trio of guacs includes a traditional recipe, mango guacamole and charred peach guacamole. You can also get a trio of salsas to try. Choose from pico de gallo, white habanero, mango and cucumber, charred tomato and jalapeno, and avocado salsa verde.
