Family-Friendly Protests & Rallies in Chicago

Families who want to be active in their communities and find ways to teach kids about activism and tolerance can join marches and other protests against racism in the Chicago area. As this week marks the Juneteenth celebration, there are non-violent actions around the city and its suburbs.

 

Chicago Peace And Equality Juneteenth Rally & Celebration 2020

 

When: June 19, 6 p.m.

 

Where: 24th & State, Chicago

 

Join a rally and march in the South Loop. Masks are required and matching T-shirts and masks will be distributed while supplies last.

 

Wall Of Demands

 

When: June 20, 9 a.m.-7 p.m.

 

Where: 4100 S. Ellis Ave., Chicago

 

Graphixspot presents Wall of Demands, a pop-up guerilla outdoor expression through art showcasing the Black community’s desires for justice. Chalk, paint, signs and other materials will be available for everyone to express their thoughts on the concrete walls of the defunct railroad.

 

A Rally & Prayer-Action for Justice

 

When: June 20, 11 a.m.

 

Where: Ephraim Bajar Cultural Center, 2525 W. 71 St., Chicago

 

Families can join a rally and prayer to address reformation, justice, healing and rebuilding communities in the aftermath of the killing of George Floyd. Hear from religious and community leaders as well as youth activists about rebuilding communities. The event will be held outside and social distancing will be practiced.

 

Chicago Musician March for Equality & Change

 

When: June 21, 10 a.m.-noon

 

Where: Julia Porter Park, 2400 N. Halsted St., Chicago

 

Join Chicago musicians, industry workers and friends of the Chicago music community, as they lead a peaceful protest march in support of Black Lives Matter and demand justice for victims of police brutality and excessive force. Musicians are encouraged to bring acoustic & percussive instruments, as we amplify our voices together in harmony to create and promote lasting impactful change for a better future for all.
