Egg hunting season is here, and since Easter falls on April 12 this year, we have an egg-stremely long list of egg hunts for you. Don’t walk, hop to these family-friendly Easter events! Egg-luminate Night Hunt (Lockport)
When: March 27
Where: Prairie Bluff Public Golf Club, 19433 Renwick Road, Lockport
Cost: $14, $12 resident; preregistration required
Enjoy a night with the Bunny, a family entertainer, pizza and drinks and an egg hunt outside. Bring a flashlight and basket for egg collection. In case of inclement weather, the egg hunt will be inside. Recommended for ages 10 and younger.
Magical Egg Hunt (Palos Park)
When: March 28
Where: Palos Park Recreation Department, 8901 W. 123rd St., Palos Park
Cost: $9, $5 resident
Welcome the Easter Bunny as he arrives with the Palos Park Fire Protection District. Thousands of eggs will be hidden on the Village Green with special eggs redeemed for prizes. Pictures with the Bunny follow the hunt.
Egg-Streme H2O Adventure (Lockport)
When: April 3
Where: Challenge Fitness Pool, 2021 Lawrence Ave, Lockport
Cost: $13, $10 resident
Hop and splash around in the flowing green pasture while visiting and taking photos with Mr. Easter Bunny. Enjoy music, treats and games while gathering a basket of eggs. Find the Golden egg to win a special prize.
Flossmoor Lucky Egg Hunt (Homewood)
When: April 4
Where: Irwin Community Center, 18120 S. Highland Ave, Homewood
Cost: Free
As the sirens sound on the Homewood Fire Truck, a special guest will arrive to start the egg hunt for kids 6 and under. Bring your basket to collect eggs. Try to find the Lucky Eggs that give you an extra prize! Pictures with the bunny will be available after the hunt. After the hunt, a 10:30 a.m. Lucky Dog Egg Hunt will take place. This is a free, on-leash event.
H2O Egg-Venture (Lemont)
When: April 4
Where: The CORE, 16028 127th Street, Lemont
Cost: $2, $1 resident; registration required
Instead of running for eggs, dive for them. Children will visit with the Bunny, enjoy refreshments, enter a coloring contest, jump in the jumpy and join their age group to dive for eggs.
Breakfast with the Bunny & Glow Hunt (Alsip)
When: April 4
Where: Apollo Recreation Center, 12521 South Kostner Ave., Alsip
Cost: $13, $9 kids, Free under 2 years; preregistration required.
Enjoy a buffet filled with breakfast favorites and have a few giggles with friends, family and a special guest who will hop on by during the Easter celebration. Then, head to the Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt with more eggs, more prizes and more glowy Easter fun.
Egg Hunt with Peter Cottontail (Frankfort)
When: April 4
Where: Commissioners Park, 22108 S. 80th Ave, Frankfort
Cost: Free
Grab a basket for the annual egg hunt. Peter Cottontail will be present for photos. Recommended for ages 1-8.
Easter Egg Hunt (Oak Lawn)
When: April 11
Where: Stony Creek Golf Course, 5850 W. 103rd Street, Oak Lawn
Cost: $12, $6 residents
The Easter Bunny drops off some fun-filled eggs so kids ages 0-8 can participate in the annual Easter Egg Hunt. The egg hunts will be age-segmented. Plus, visit with the Easter Bunny and participate in a craft project. Registration required.
Lucky Egg Hunt (Orland Park)
When: April 13
Where: Centennial Park, 15600 West Ave., Orland Park
Cost: Free
Gather Easter eggs as the Bunny hops his way into Orland Park. Find a “lucky” egg with a special surprise inside. Hunters are broken into age categories and should bring a basket.
