9 Easter Egg Hunts in the North/Northwest Suburbs Your Kids Will Eggstremely Love

Egg hunting season is here, and since Easter falls on April 12 this year, we have an egg-stremely long list of egg hunts for you. Don’t walk, hop to these family-friendly Easter events! Read some of our picks below for fun Easter egg hunts in the North/Northwest Suburbs and find the most updated list on our calendar.

 

Flashlight Egg Hunt (Round Lake)

 

When: April 3

 

Where: Hart’s Woods Park, 814 W. Hart Road, Round Lake

 

Cost: $5

 

Kids 9-12 bring flashlights and running shoes to discover a special delivery of goodies and treats. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served after the egg hunt. Dress for the weather.

 

Bunny Rock 5K & Egg Hunt (Vernon Hills)

 

When: April 4

 

Where: Hawthorn Mall 122 Hawthorn Center, Vernon Hills

 

Cost: $35-$50 race; $10-$20 egg hunt

 

Run while jamming out to 80s rock music and receive a pair of bunny ears, sunglasses, and a bunny rock t-shirt to wear on your run. Fun family activities like a petting zoo and an egg hunt take place after the race for kids 2-10. Egg hunt participants receive ears, sunglasses and a basket for their eggs.

 

Egg Hunt (Mount Prospect)

 

When: April 4

 

Where: RecPlex Mount Prospect, 420 Dempster St., Mount Prospect

 

Cost: $5, $3 crafts, registration required

 

Jump into piles of “grass” and hunt for treat-filled eggs. Bring a basket for all your treasures and a camera for a photo with the Easter bunny. Recommended for ages 3-8.

 

Bunny Bash (Schaumburg)

 

When: April 4

 

Where: Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg

 

Cost: $15 day of event registration, $12 preregistration; Free adults & children under 2

 

Celebrate spring with indoor and outdoor activities for the whole family. Activities include egg hunts, a photo with the Bunny, games, crafts, moon jumps, concessions, pony rides and a petting zoo.

 

Underwater EGGstravaganza (Schaumburg)

 

When: April 9

 

Where: Schaumburg Park District, 505 N. Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg

 

Cost: $18, $12 resident; free adults

 

This event includes pool egg hunts, entertainment, games and prizes. Scheduled egg hunts by age group will be in the play pool and parents can assist small children. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

 

Easter Egg Hunt (Glenview)

 

When: April 11

 

Where: Glenview New Church School, 74 Park Drive, Glenview

 

Cost: $10

 

More than 8,000 eggs are hidden on 15 acres of the school’s land. Grand Prize Golden eggs are hidden along with the rest of the eggs that can be turned in for prizes. Plus, a raffle, a magic show and snacks. A fenced-in egg hunt available for ages 1-4. Egg hunt bags are provided; do not bring bags or baskets.

 

Egg Hunt (Rockford)

 

When: April 11

 

Where: Discovery Center Museum 711 N. Main St., Rockford

 

Cost: $13; $11 adults; $3 member children, free member adults

 

Hop into your favorite museum to fill your basket with yummy treats. Kids 9 and under can look for eggs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. The rest of the time, children of all ages can create super springtime art and jump into egg-cellent fun.

 

Egg Hunt (Highland Park)

 

When: April 11

 

Where: Sunset Woods Park, 1801 Sunset Road, Highland Park

 

Cost: Free

 

Gather colorful eggs filled with toys and fun surprises. One special egg will hold a family pass to Hidden Creek AquaPark for Summer 2019. Be sure to keep an eye out for a special guest.

 

Easter Egg Hunt & Brunch (Glencoe)

 

When: April 12

 

Where: Chicago Botanic Garden 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe

 

Cost: $43, $38 member; $32 kids 3-12, $27 member kids; free kids 2 and under

 

Enjoy brunch in Nichols Hall. Bring a basket and hop to the Rose Garden after brunch and join in the Easter egg hunt, before taking a stroll to explore the vibrant colors and spring blooms.
