Lunar New Year, also sometimes known as Chinese New Year, will be celebrated in many countries throughout Asia (and here in the U.S.) on Feb. 1, 2022.

Lunar New Year Celebration

Hear a Chinese New Year story, followed by a craft activity. For children ages 3-8. Register by 4 p.m. Jan. 31, 2022.
Chinese New Year Virtual Celebration

Join the Chinese American Museum of Chicago for a virtual event in welcoming and celebrating the Year of the Tiger. Register ahead of time to receive the link. Festivities musical performances, lion dance, and much more.
Argyle Lunar New Year Parade
Feb. 5, 2022
- Address: Argyle Parade, Argyle Street and Winthrop Avenue, Chicago
- Cost: Free
Parade will kick off at Argyle Street and Winthrop Avenue, and will head east along Argyle Street, south along Sheridan Road, west along Ainslie Street, and north along Broadway to Argyle Street. In addition, a number of local organizations are planning pop-ups with family-friendly activities.
Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade
Feb. 13, 2022
- Address: Chinatown, Wentworth Avenue and Cermak Road, Chicago
- Cost: Free
The parade kicks off at 24th Street and Wentworth Avenue, and heads north up Wentworth to Cermak Road. The parade features marching bands, colorful floats, and traditional lion and dragon dances.
