Kneads & Wants Artisan Bakery and Cafe

This family-owned bakery specializes in small-batch baking, using only the finest ingredients to create a delectable selection of cookies. Although they offer an ever-changing menu, cookie staples generally include chewy blondies, spiced gingerbread cookies, melt-in-your-mouth Mexican wedding cookies, rich, decadent chocolate crinkle cookies and classic, beloved chocolate chip cookies.

Will’s Place

Will’s Place is a nonprofit café, creating meaningful jobs for adults with disabilities. Will’s is famous for its chocolate chip cookies. This sweet, buttery treat has the perfect ratio of a sweet, doughy center with crispy edges. Owner Will Schejbal uses his own special recipe and personally approves every batch.

Bennison’s Bakery

A North Shore institution for more than 80 years, there’s always plenty of chatter about Bennison’s cookies. Owner Jory Downer, a certified master baker from the Retailer’s Bakery Association, makes sure that the cookies at Bennison’s deliver. Popular cookies include black and white, M&M, sprinkle and sugar. Depending on the time of year, they typically have team cookies readily available (Bears, Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs, Sox). Due to its proximity to Northwestern, Wildcat cookies are a menu staple.

Pâtisserie Coralie

Pâtisserie Coralie is a boutique French coffee shop and bakery located in downtown Evanston. Pâtisserie Coralie features traditional French cookies, like chocolate and double chocolate madeleines (shell shaped sponge cakes), Sablé Breton (butter cookie), Peanut au Chocolat (vanilla cookie with peanut butter ganache) and Cookie Crème. All cookies are designed to pair with a cup of their signature bistro blend coffee.
