9 Virtual Events for Chicago Babies & Toddlers This May

While we’re at home practicing good social distancing, there are plenty of things to do to keep our Chicago babies and toddlers occupied. Here are some virtual events from your favorite local businesses that are keeping your little ones entertained!

 

 

Parent-Tot Gymnastics Virtual Class

 

When: May 2

 

Host: The Actors Gymnasium

 

Through a combination of theater games and physical activities, students ages 2-3 and their parents will learn about physical awareness, balance, and the connection between movement and imagination.

 

Wake Up with Anna

 

When: May 6, 13, 20, 27

 

Host: Stages Performing Arts

 

If your kiddos are up early, enjoy a reading time with Princess Anna on Instagram Live, provided by Stages Performing Arts.

 

Miss Jamie’s Farm Mother’s Day Virtual Concert

 

When: May 10

 

Hosts: Chicago Parent, Metro Parent & Miss Jamie’s Farm

 

Get ready to sing and dance with friends in this virtual colorful 30-minute Mother’s Day hoedown hosted by Chicago Parent and Metro Parent through Zoom. Kids can interact in real time and respond to questions during the show. The concert is perfect for 2-8 year olds, but babies and grownups will love it, too.

 

Spanish Class for Toddlers

 

When: Daily

 

Where: Toc Toc Spanish

 

Kids ages 2-5 learn to speak Spanish through numbers, colors and animals, a sing-along and puppets. Non-Spanish speakers are welcome.

 

Wiggleworms at Home

 

When: Daily classes available

 

Host: Old Town School of Music

 

Have all the fun, giggles, and music of Wiggleworms streamed right into your home. Their seasoned family of Wiggleworms teachers will lead each class with songs to sing, movement to get the wiggles out, fingerplays, and more – guaranteed to be the musical bright spot of your day! Perfect for families with children age 5 and under.

 

Bubble Ballet Virtual Class – 1 to 5 years

 

When: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays

 

Host: Bubbles Academy

 

Kids ages 1-4 years get movin’ & groovin’ in a virtual Bubble Ballet class.

 

Mr. Dave’s Music Virtual Class – Toddlers & Preschoolers

 

When: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays

 

Where: Zoom

 

Mr. Dave goes virtual! Join a 30-minute virtual experience streamed from Mr. Dave’s home studio. They use shakers, scarves and introduce your littles to various sounds so be sure to grab any instruments (or household items) you have at home so your little(s) can play along. All registrants will receive an email prior to class with log-in credentials.

 

Storybook Yoga: A Virtual Mini-Series for Kids

 

When: Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays

 

Host: Buddha Belly Kids Yoga

 

In storybook yoga, flow through a sequence of fun and creative poses that embody the story; bringing literature to life. From here, the magic of yoga unfolds.

 

Tiny Animal Adventures Virtual Class

 

When: Fridays through May 29

 

Host: Double J Riding Club

 

Toddlers and early learners ages 18 months to 6 years will learn all about animals, agricultural, science, and nature as the Double J Riding Club explores the farm grounds, learn all about the animal of the week, listen to an animal-centric story, create a fun craft (with supplies found around the house), participate in Farm Yoga, play various games and more.
