As much as I adore Pinterest, and believe me, I do, sometimes pinning a bunch of home décor projects and crafts that I will never have time to do in this life is not enough for me to be creatively satisfied. Sometimes, friends, I actually get the urge to make one of the things that I have pinned. I am currently in one of those moods. Which is why I have various projects lying around the house in various stages of completion and backsplash tile in the in the trunk of my car.
For those of you that are like me, and who have little ones who like to get artsy too, there is a wide array of awesome art studios in the south suburbs where you can create and learn to your heart’s content. You might even want to make a gift for a family member, too!
art a la carte
In Orland Park, art a la carte is a community art studio offering all kinds of activities, classes, workshops and events for everyone in the family. You can even book a party of your very own for an artsy person in your family.
Art for Soul
Art for Soul, located in Homewood, is one of my absolute favorite places to create pottery and I love receiving gifts from there as well. Try out a class or a workshop, or stop in to create a special gift for someone you care about. There is open canvas painting if that is more your style and you can even check out the Wine Glass Painting Class. I’m in!
Little Pastiche Studio
Little Pastiche Studio in Mokena is an awesome place book a party and learn to paint on canvas. Instructors use the seasons as inspiration. Kids and parents are welcome to learn together and create beautiful works of art as a family.
Pots and Paints
Pots and Paints, also located in Mokena, is a great place to create a one-of-a-kind gift for someone you love. You can pop in at anytime, which is great because you never know when the creativity bug will strike.
Are you as excited as I am to get that old T-shirt out and get painting with your kids?
