Egg-straordinary Easter events for families in Chicago

EGGcellent Open Gym (Oak Lawn)

Day includes special Easter activities for children who can explore the gymnastics gym and work off some of that extra energy. Kids can meet the Easter Bunny and do an Easter craft. Each child will receive a goodie-bag with healthy snacks in it. April 8.

 


 

Skate with the Easter Bunny (Oak Lawn)

Hop on in to skate and visit with the Easter Bunny on and off the ice. April 15.


 

Movie in the Park

Celebrate summer with a family movie night under the stars. Seating is on the grass by the red bandshell. Blankets, chairs and snacks welcome. June 2: Zootopia; June 9: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them; June 16: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; June 23: Sing; June 30: Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan; July 7: Lego Batman Movie; July 14: Bill & TedÂ’s Excellent Adventure; July 21: Monster Trucks; July 28: The Great Gilly Hopkins; Aug. 4: A DogÂ’s Purpose; Aug. 11: La La Land; Aug. 18: The Land Before Time; Aug. 25: Guardians of the Galaxy.

Kidgits Easter Eggstravaganza (Schaumburg)

Celebrate the arrival of spring with festive activities, interactive games, giveaways and more. Plus, attendees will have the chance to visit with the Bunny and take home a treasured memory of the fun occasion as part of the Bunny Photo Experience, which runs through March 26. March 19.


Natural Egg Dyeing (Palos Heights)

Use roots, beanstalks and skins to make natural vegetable dyes for colorful Easter eggs. April 12.


Sensitive Bunny (Lincolnwood)

Offers families that have children with special needs a subdued environment to participate in the Bunny Photo Experience. Many steps will be taken to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for childrenÂ’s cherished visit with the Bunny. March 13.

Easter Celebration

Kids make egg salad sandwiches, fruit salad and spring sugar cookies. Plus, enjoy natural egg dyeing and crafting egg carton chicks. March 25-26.


Natural Egg Dyeing (Elgin)

A variety of natural dyes include onion skins, Turmeric (a spice), beets, blueberries and much more. This technique comes from Native American and Pioneer days when chemical dyes and food coloring were not available. Use modern techniques such as crayons and rubber bands to complete amazing designs! Recipes of the dyes are provided so you can try this at home. April 15.

 


Cotton Candy with the Easter Bunny

Get a complimentary photo with the Easter Bunny, a free Easter-themed gift and cotton candy. Available to the first 200 kids.


 

Bowling with the Bunny

Guests can enjoy bowling and photos with the Easter Bunny along with complimentary pizzas and soda. All proceeds will benefit the Anti-Cruelty Society. All guests will receive a golden Easter egg containing candy and various prizes including bowling passes, pizza party certificates and free sundae vouchers.
