Local Farmers Market – It’s important to shop local and organic. Try your local farmers markets for some casual candid shots of your family. If you go in the early morning you can guarantee some great natural light!

Goebbert’s Farm & Garden Center – A close drive from the city, this farm offers a full day of fall fun. The camel ride was a hit in our home! (40 W Higgins Rd, South Barrington, IL 60010) *admission required

Build a campfire with your family an hour before dusk. Bring along s’more fixin’s and actually enjoy family photos!

Creating a festive hot cocoa stand. It’s perfect for photos of the kids!

While the season is pretty much over, picking apples in an orchard is such a classic and fun activity. Bring along a mid-sized wooden ladder for some interesting poses. A pumpkin patch and wheel barrel are just as classic!

Carving and/or decorating pumpkins is a priceless activity to capture in photos. A kitchen, garage or yard would make the perfect location.
