As parents, we love our kids year-round, but there’s something about the month of February, with its red hearts and Michael Buble in the air, that encourages us to show it. Check out these events that will have you feeling the love.

City

Family Valentine’s Day Dance

When: Feb. 7

Where: Mayfair Park, 4550 W. Sunnyside Ave., Chicago

Cost: $5

Concessions and photo op (separate fee) are provided by the Mayfair Park Advisory Council.

Parent and Child Valentine’s Dance at West Lawn

When: Feb. 7

Where: West Lawn Park, 4233 W. 65th St., Chicago

Cost: Free

Put on your dancin’ shoes for a Valentine’s Day Dance. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

Daddy Daughter Dance

When: Feb. 7

Where: Sheil Park, 3505 N. Southport Ave., Chicago

Cost: $10

This annual event has become a tradition for many neighborhood dads and their daughters.

Family Valentine Dance at Union

When: Feb. 13

Where: Union Park, 1501 W. Randolph, Chicago

Cost: Free

Enjoy dancing, crafts and treats. Bring a camera for our photo area to take a picture with your favorite sweetheart.

Valentine’s Day Daddy Daughter Dance at Maplewood

When: Feb. 14

Where: Maplewood Park, 1640 N. Maplewood Ave., Chicago

Cost: $5 per child

Daddys and daughters ages 3-11 come together for an unforgettable night of dancing. 

North/Northwest Suburbs

Daddy Daughter Dinner Dance

When: Jan. 31

Where: DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Chicago North Shore Conference Center, 9599 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie

Cost: $90 per couple, $30 additional daughters; $75 per resident couple, $25 additional resident daughters

Dads and their daughters will enjoy dinner, dessert and a photo booth to help capture all of the memories of the evening. After dinner, they’ll be entertained with dancing and DJ-led games. Later, the candy buffet, always a favorite of dads and daughters, will provide a sweet end to the evening.

Daddy Daughter Winter Ball

When: Feb. 8

Where: Dickinson Hall, 100 E. Old Mill Road, Lake Forest

Cost: $66, $55 residents, $35 additional daughter

The “Great Room” of Dickinson Hall will be the site of a father-daughter dance for those dressed in their best dance attire. Recommended for princesses ages 5-12 with their father escorts.

Enchanted Evening

When: Feb. 15

Where: Viking Park, 4374 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee

Cost: $16, $13 residents

Enjoy an enchanted evening with some of your favorite princesses like Belle and Cinderella. Dress in your finest clothes (and bring a special adult along) and enjoy a kid-friendly dinner and dancing. 

Daddy Daughter Dance – The Greatest Show

When: Feb. 28

Where: Langendorf Park, 235 Lions Drive, Barrington

Cost: $72 ($60 resident) per couple, $42 ($35 resident) each additional child

This is the greatest show! Enjoy a night of dinner, games and a special circus performance by The Flying Fool. Please wear clothing you can be active in. 

Daddy & Daughter Sweetheart Dance

When: Feb. 9

Where: Patty Turner Center, 375 Elm Street, Deerfield

Cost: $38, $30 residents

Sweep your favorite valentine off her feet and show her a date to remember. Dress up and enjoy a meal together followed by dancing and dessert.

South Suburbs

Daddy Daughter Social

When: Feb. 6

Where: DuPage Township Levy Center, Bolingbrook

Cost: $24, $16 residents

Dads and daughters can spend a special night together dancing on the dance floor, making a keepsake craft, having a fun picture taken and making your own ice cream sundae. 

Under the Sea Daddy Daughter Ball

When: Feb. 8

Where: Prairie Bluff Public Golf Course, 19433 Renwick Rd, Lockport

Cost: $40, $32 residents, $18 additional child 

Enjoy a magical evening with dinner, dessert, a photo booth and a special performance by one of your favorite princesses. 

Western Suburbs

Daddy Daughter Candy Land Ball

When: Feb. 1

Where: Lincoln Center, 935 Maple Ave, Downers Grove

Cost: $60, $50 residents

Spend an unforgettable evening with your little sweetheart at a candy-themed ball! Dads and their special little girls are invited to enjoy sweet treats, music and fun activities. 

Hollywood Nights Daddy Daughter Dance

When: Feb. 7

Where: Park District of Forest Park, 7501 Harrison St., Forest Park

Cost: $46, $36 resident; $9 additional child

Enjoy a delicious dinner, Hollywood-themed games and dancing. Dress for the occasion in your favorite red carpet outfits. Each child will receive a special gift and all the adult/child couples will receive a photo to remember the occasion. Recommended for ages 4-12 with fathers, grandfathers or uncles. 

Love Bug Dance

When: Feb. 13

Where: DuPage Children’s Museum, 301 N. Washington St., Naperville

Cost: $13, $10 members

Celebrate an evening of love, friendship, and family with your little “Love Bugs” at DuPage Children’s Museum during the family Valentine’s Dance. Groove out with Bach to Rock’s family-friendly DJ, indulge in tasty treats from Fiammé, remember the evening with special photo ops, explore a variety of fun activities, and play in the Museum’s exhibits.

Daddy Daughter Princess Ball

When: Feb. 21

Where: Wheaton Park District Community Center 1777 S. Blanchard Road, Wheaton

Cost: $38-$48

Dads and daughters make special memories at The Princess Ball. Girls receive a corsage and crown on arrival. Guests enjoy great music, dancing, a sundae bar, and more! Please come dressed in suits for dads and dresses or princess dresses for the girls.

90’s Daddy Daughter Dance

When: Feb. 21

Where: York Center Park District, 1609 Luther Ave, Lombard,

Cost: $17.50, $15 residents

Wear your best dress clothes or rockin’ 90’s gear! Daughters can be pampered in a salon and create an awesome craft. Dance the night away while enjoying light appetizers and a dessert bar.
