As Chicagoland museums continue to reopen, some families will be excited to hear that they might be able to visit a few of these cultural gems for free.
The Art Institute of Chicago, the Chicago History Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry will offer free admission this summer. For each museum, you can register your free tickets in advance for the following days:
- The Art Institute of Chicago: July 30-31, Aug. 1-3 (Illinois residents only)
- Chicago History Museum: Through July 31
- Museum of Contemporary Art of Chicago: July 24-31, Aug. 1-31
- Museum of Science and Industry:Â Aug. 1-14
Keep in mind that certain safety precautions are in place for these museums including required face coverings and limited capacity. Some exhibits might be temporarily closed as well. Visit each museum’s website for more information, and stay home if someone in your family is not feeling well.
