5 Chicago museums are offering free admission on Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Need to make plans with the kids for MLK Day? These local museums are coming to your rescue! 

On Jan. 20, the following museums are offering free admission to Illinois residents: Adler Planetarium, Chicago History Museum, The Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry and Shedd Aquarium.

Some museums are also offering special programs to honor Martin Luther King Jr. At the Chicago History Museum, guests can see Writers Theatre’s production of “The MLK Project: The Fight for Civil Rights”, and enjoy storytelling, live music and crafts.
