Best Indoor Amusement Parks in Chicagoland

Enjoy thrilling rides, arcade games and more at these family attractions.

Amusement parks that are open all year long? We’re big fans. You can ride rollercoasters, hit the bumper cars and snack on all your midway favorites at these Chicagoland spots.

We put Chicagoland’s indoor amusement parks to our very scientific “fun test” and these are our favorites. So grab some cotton candy and keep summer alive at one of these fun destinations.

Enchanted Castle

You can enjoy classic indoor rides like go-karts and bumper cars at Enchanted Castle. Other thrill attractions include the Catapult Ride and plenty of virtual reality rides. Plus, families can try indoor mini golf, laser tag, arcade games and so much more.

Gizmo’s Fun Factory

Kids can feel like they’re flying on the zip line that gives you a bird’s eye view of Gizmos. Mechanical rides include bumper cars and go-karts. Other fun includes arcade games, laser tab, wall climbing and a soft play area for littles.

Haunted Trails

Navigate a web a laser beams and win prizes in Lazer Frenzy, or play games in a monster-themed arcade. Haunted Trails also offers plenty of seasonal outdoor activities including mini golf and a kiddie coaster.

Legoland Discovery Center

The real draw here is the Lego immersion. Kids can experiment and build with all different types, watch a 4D movie, visit the Chicago Miniland or work with a Lego Master Builder. Families can enjoy two rides. Merlin’s Apprentice Ride offers a real challenge since kids need to pedal faster to go higher. While Kingdom Quest does not offer the climbs and dips, the Lego creations, which also move, are a real marvel.

Odyssey Fun World

The two-story Ferris wheel in Tinley Park offers a bird’s eye view of the whole location. Other indoor rides are Demolition Derby Bumper Cars and Himalaya Roller Coaster. While you’re there, kids can also spend time playing with arcade games or running around for laser tag.

Safari Land Indoor Amusement Park

This indoor amusement park’s animal theme offers good photo ops outside and inside. Kids will love Tiger Terror, the largest indoor roller coaster in Illinois that climbs almost to the ceiling with stomach-flopping drops. They even have a real Tilt-a-Whirl. The rides are all restricted by height so take a look around to see what your children will be able to do. There’s also a bowling alley, arcade games, soft play area and restaurant.
