The Balloon Museum is landing in Chicago with a mind-blowing immersive show

A global sensation of light, color and emotion arrives at The Fields Studios for a limited run.

When art takes flight, it has a way of lifting the spirit. That’s exactly what visitors can expect when the Balloon Museum brings its interactive exhibition, “EmotionAir | Art You Can Feel,” to The Fields Studios in Chicago through April 6, 2026.

More than an art show, “EmotionAir” is an experience — an immersive, multi-sensory journey that invites visitors to step inside massive, air-filled installations that react to touch, sound and movement. Each piece explores the emotional spectrum, transforming abstract feelings into vivid, tangible forms.

“Balloon Museum was conceived as a creative response to a changing world, based on the idea that the innocence of childhood can be transformed into art that elevates and inspires,” said Roberto Fantauzzi, CEO of Lux Entertainment, in a press release. “As we prepare to open our doors in the Windy City, we are excited to share this vision, bringing joy, inspiration and connection to new audiences.”

Since its debut in 2021, the Balloon Museum has captivated over 7 million visitors worldwide with its playful approach to art. Its four major showcases — “Pop Air,” “Let’s Fly,” “EmotionAir” and “Euphoria” — have popped up in cities like London, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Miami, San Francisco, New York and Singapore, each transforming air into an artistic medium that bridges imagination and emotion.

Now, Chicago audiences will get their turn to explore works by internationally renowned artists such as Cyril Lancelin and Alex Schweder. Together, the installations turn The Fields Studios into a living, breathing gallery that reflects the interplay between sensations, action and reaction.

“EmotionAir” challenges the traditional museum experience. Instead of standing back and observing, visitors step in, touch, play and participate — feeling art not just emotionally, but physically. Each room becomes a mirror, reflecting the visitor’s state of mind through color, movement, and air.

The Balloon Museum’s Chicago residency underscores a growing appetite for experiential art, where creativity and technology converge to spark awe in all ages. Whether you’re an art enthusiast or a family seeking weekend inspiration, “EmotionAir” promises an experience that floats well above the ordinary.
