Gallagher Way Transforms into a Winter Wonderland

Families can head to Gallagher Way to experience a winter wonderland with holiday activities, rides and more.

The holidays are here, which means itโ€™s time to check out all the festivities Chicago has to offer โ€” including Winterland at Gallagher Way.

The beloved holiday event has traditionally taken place inside historic Wrigley Field, but this year, the Winterland will be contained to Gallagher Way.

Find carnival rides, a holiday train, Winterland bumper cars and more festive attractions at Winterland this holiday season.

When you first set foot into Winterland at Gallagher Way, you and your family will be greeted with breathtaking holiday scenes, perfect for photo opportunities.

Kids can visit with Santa on Thursday-Friday from 4-9 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. But the winter fun doesn’t stop there. Tour Winterland in a festive holiday train, then take a spin in an ice bumper car. When it’s time to warm up, the concession stands offer a seasonal menu with delicious beverages and tasty treats.

Winterland is currently open through Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024. Hours are 4-9 p.m. Thursday-Friday,; 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sunday. For additional details, learn more at Winterland FAQ.

Tips for families when visiting Winterland at Gallagher Way

  • Parking is available for purchase in the Toyota Camry Lot at 1126 W. Grace St. Rates start at $10. VIP parking is available in the Toyota Highlander Lot at 1088 W. Waveland Ave. for $30 on select days. Purchase parking in advance or on-site.
  • Kick off the holiday season with a tree lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 6, 2024 at 6 p.m.
  • Catch a Christmas movie on the big screen.ย Elf will be shown on Thursday, Dec. 12.ย Home Alone will be shown on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Things to do near Winterland at Gallagher Way

  • Your kids will adore the play structures resembling the Willis Tower and the Hancock Building at Margaret Donahue Park, just a few blocks from Wrigley Field. And what would this Chicago-centric park be without its impressive turf, complete with the Cubs logo?
  • Get ready for cats and lots of them at The Catcade, an arcade-themed cat rescue and lounge. Guests can pay $17 to play video games, sip on something sweet and play with cats and kittens galore. Plus, all the felines are up for adoption (except for resident cat Leo). Children 12 and over are permitted.
  • If youโ€™re looking for a family-friendly spot with delicious bites and affordable options, look no further than BIG & littleโ€™s! The restaurant offers award-winning fast food โ€” including unique burgers, upscale tacos and loaded hot dogs.

Sip contemporary and vintage cocktails in a festive atmosphere complete with over-the-top holiday decor.
