No need for Floo Powder — Chicago families can soon walk right into the Wizarding World via the Magnificent Mile. The new Harry Potter Shop Chicago plans to open at 676 N. Michigan Ave., on April 10.
Created to fully immerse fans in the beloved universe of J.K. Rowling, this immersive retail experience combines themed decor, interactive elements and exclusive merchandise — all with a touch of Chicago flair! From the moment you spot the golden entrance and glittering signage along the Magnificent Mile, the magic begins.

What families can expect at Harry Potter Shop Chicago
Admission is free (music to our ears!), making it the perfect drop-in destination for a magical family outing. Whether your child just started reading Sorcerer’s Stone or your teen knows every line of Goblet of Fire, there’s something enchanting for every age.
Here are some spellbinding areas to explore when visiting:
- Grab a drink at the Butterbeer Bar. Designed after a Chicago speakeasy, this will be know as the largest Butterbeer Bar in the U.S. Sip on the classic wizarding beverage and try their exclusive Chicago-themed Butterscotch Popcorn.
- Satisfy your sweet tooth with endless candies. Honeydukes comes to life with all your favorite treats from Flavor Beans, Chocolate Frogs and a giant interactive jellybean display.
- Show off your House pride. Are you Team Gryffindor or Team Slytherin? All four Hogwarts houses are represented in the shop with apparel, accessories and more to rock your house colors in style.
- Windy City meets wizard merch. Yes, that’s right. Chicagoans can show off their city pride with a touch of magic like a plush Chicago bear in Hogwarts gear or spirit jerseys.
