Family Days at Chicago Museums and Other Attractions

There's no better time to visit local museum, park or other attraction than on kids' day!

Looking for a fun way to spend a day with the kids? Kids’ Days are the best days to enjoy some of the educational hubs or fun spots in our area.

These events typically happen on a schedule and often feature a lower entrance fee for kids or special events geared directed at youth.

Whether it’s an educational, recreational or a full-family opportunity, get involved in the activities that these community places have to offer at these upcoming kids’ day events.

Adler at Night at the Adler Planetarium

The planetarium stays open late on Wednesdays so that local parents who work days can bring their kids to learn about the universe. Swing by between 4-10 p.m. and enjoy!

Family Day at the Elmhurst Art Museum

The Elmhurst Art Museum and the DuPage Foundation have teamed up to offer free hands-on activities for kids on select days throughout the year. The themes of the activities change from event to event.

Free Admission Day at the Field Museum

  • Address: 1400 S. Lake Shore Drive, Chicago
  • Cost: Free

The Field Museum offers free admission on select days throughout the year so that Illinois families can explore the wonders inside. Swing by for nature exhibits, special events and SUE the T. rex.

Free Fridays at Illinois Holocaust Museum

Families can visit for free on the last Friday of every month to experience the museum and learn how to make a difference. 

Family Day at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago

Bring your kids out to see the art displays and try different workshops inspired by that art. Family Day typically happens monthly, but that can vary throughout the year.

Family Fun Day at Sky Zone in Aurora

Families of four enjoy 90 minutes of jumping for four, one large pizza and a pitcher of pop on select Sundays. Sky Zone socks are required and not included in this price.
