Watch This, Do That: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem

Check out this computer-animated superhero film reboot that hones in on the heroes as teenagers.

Four teenage turtles and brothers, Donatello (Micah Abbey), Michelangelo (Shamon Brown Jr.), Leonardo (Nicolas Cantu) and Raphael (Brady Noon) dream about living a normal human life in New York City. Unfortunately, their father, Splinter (Jackie Chan) forbids them from doing this.

When they make a human friend named April (Ayo Edebiri), they see that not all humans are the same. They team up with her to take down one of the worst villains the city has seen, Superfly (Ice Cube).

This film is rated PG due to mild violence and language, so use your discretion.

A few takeaways to discuss with the kids:

  • Never judge someone only by the way they look. The turtles may look different than April or her classmates, but they were just like regular teenagers.
  • Don’t believe everything you hear or see on the internet/news. Make sure it’s coming from a credible source before spreading the news to others.
  • Always have dreams or goals to work towards. The turtles just wanted to go to high school and have a normal life. That was what their goal they worked towards.
  • Face your fears. April always got nervous on air, in front of the camera. She faced her fears to get the real story about the Ninja Turtles out.
