Heart-shaped teething biscuit

Valentines don’t have to be store-bought. This is a great healthy recipe for wishing your little person a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 3 tablespoons applesauce
  • Mixing bowl
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutters
  • Rolling pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Butter for greasing baking sheet

Directions

Mix ingredients together and knead by hand for a couple of minutes. Roll the dough out until it is about 1/3-inch thick. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter. Bake on a greased cookie sheet at 300 degrees for about 30 minutes (until they just begin to brown slightly). Cool and serve to the little loves of your life. Older kids will love these served alongside a glass of milk for dipping.
