These beautiful – and easy to make – tulips will brighten any spring table and make the perfect addition to any Easter basket. You can start your kids on their origami journey at any age (with help), and by age 8, they should be able to follow the folding instructions on their own.

Materials
Per flower:
- 1 square piece of paper, 4-inches square
- Green paper, 11 x 3 ⅛-inch square
Tools:
- Ruler
- Toothpick or thin paintbrush, to shape the stem
- Glue stick
- Scissors
Instructions
Fold the flower
- Turn the square piece of paper so you have a
diamond in front of you. - Fold up the bottom point to meet the top point and make a nice, neat crease running along the center. You should now have a triangle in front of you.
- Take the right point and bring it all the way over to the left point, making a new smaller triangle.
- Open it up again. You should have the same triangle from the second step, but now with a crease down the middle, which will help shape your tulip.
- Flip your paper over and bring the bottom left corner up. This time, you are not aligning it with the top point, but are bringing it to about ⅜ inch away from the top point. Repeat with the right side.
- Your basic paper tulip is finished, but to shape it a little more, flip the tulip over. With all three points of the flower at the top, fold in the sides to shape your flower.
- The basic tulip is now finished and can be used for greeting cards, collages or bouquets of flowers.
Make the stem
- Take the green paper strip and start rolling it up diagonally; using a toothpick or a thin paintbrush to get it going should help. Using a glue stick, secure with a little glue.
- Make a little snip into the bottom of your tulip flower and insert the stem. You may want to glue the stem in place.
