You can cook just about anything in a cast iron skillet, including this classic French sandwich.
Ingredients
- 8 slices bread
- 8 slices ham
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- Assemble sandwiches: Mix together mayonnaise and mustard and spread on one side of each slice of bread. Place two ham slices and one cheese slice in each sandwich.
- Melt butter in skillet. Beat eggs with milk in a shallow bowl; add salt and pepper. Dip each sandwich in the egg mixture before frying in pan. Flip when golden brown; fry on other side until done.
- Serve with a side of baby carrots and sugar snap peas.
