American Writers Museum will offer free admission on Saturday

If you haven’t seen the American Writers Museum yet, this weekend is the perfect time to visit.

On Saturday (Jan. 25), the downtown museum will offer free admission to all its visitors while it hosts Carpe Librum Chicagos winter book sale, including children’s and young adult books. Carpe Librum Chicago will use the book sale’s profits to benefit the educational nonprofit Turning the Page

While at the museum, guests can explore the two newest exhibits, America: Immigrant and Refugee Writers Today and Tools Of The Trade (which features a collection of typewriters used by famous writers like Ernest Hemingway and Maya Angelous). Families with younger kids should also stop by the Children’s Literature Gallery with hands-on activities from classic children’s books.

The American Writers Museum is located on 180 N. Michigan Ave. Normally, the general admission is $14 for adults, $9 for seniors and students, and free for kids ages 12 and under.
