Summer Sports Camps in Chicago Your Kid Will Love

If your active child lives and breathes sports, FlashFit Kids Camp at Canlan Sports is the week-long summer sports camp you’ve been looking for.

For active kids, summer is the best time to run around, play games and have fun with friends. A sports-focused summer camp program delivers just what they crave. It’s a bonus if the summer camp encourages learning, growth and fun — and the opportunity to gain skills across a wide variety of sports.

Canlan Sports, a play-focused brand with four locations in Illinois, offers FlashFit Kids Summer Camps for youth aged 5-11 in Barrington and Libertyville. At this innovative summer camp, kids build a foundation for lifelong enjoyment of physical activity while they practice teamwork, and connect with new friends.

“We tend to say our summer camps are for active kids,” says Alex Cristiano, Director of Marketing at Canlan Sports. “If you have a kid that is super excited to move around, socialize, be a part of a team, engage in fun activities and build their love of sports, then this is the place for them.”

Something new each week

At FlashFit Kids Camps, variety is key. Sports and activities vary each week of camp so that kids can learn various sports skills — and discover new passions for different sports and physical activities.

“Since these camps are multi-sport, kids get access to the whole facility they go to,” Alex Cristiano says. “We have huge fields of high-quality turf for soccer and other activities. We also have hardwood basketball courts, volleyball courts and a running track. Kids are truly getting a well-rounded experience, keeping the engagement and motivation level extremely high.”

In fact, Canlan Lake Barrington is the largest indoor sports facility in the Midwest.

Each camp runs Monday through Friday at the Lake Barrington and Libertyville locations in three different time slots; 8:30 a.m. to noon, 1 to 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The first camp is June 3-7 and hot lunch is available for purchase for full-day campers.

Every week is based on a unique theme, like Battlehouse Battalion, Canlan Ninja Warrior, Carnival Week, Fitness Fun and more.

“The great thing about this is that parents can sign up their children for as many week-long sessions as they would like,” Alex Cristiano says. “Since each week is so different, kids will never get tired of the same old routine. They are always so excited about the unique activities that we introduce to go along with each theme. Sometimes there are bouncy castles. Other times we set up obstacle courses. It’s always changing.”

Camp, all summer long, and each week is different

Switching things up so often allows Canlan to follow the most up-to-date sports and child development trends. The themes are on a rotating schedule and different in each location, so check Canlan’s website to learn what’s in store each week.

“We’re always on the cusp of what’s new, exciting and innovative,” Julia Maniccia, Content Strategy Manager, says. “We want to introduce as many kids to sports as possible. To do this, we focus on meticulously curating these camp experiences where kids can grow, thrive, learn something new and connect with each other. We aim for them to have fun, play and return wanting to learn more.”
