Summer Fun and Learning Is Just Around the Corner with RAS Camps

With four exciting camps offered at locations throughout Chicagoland, RAS Camps empower you to build a summer experience that’s uniquely tailored to your child’s interests and your family’s busy schedule.

Chicagoland parents: looking for a summer camp that’s fun, flexible, enriching, and close to home? This summer, you’ll find RAS Camps (by Right at School) with day camps and specialty camps at:

  • Waters Elementary
  • Murray Language Academy
  • Oscar Mayer Magnet
  • South Loop Elementary
  • Franklin Fine Arts
  • Horizon Science Academy
  • And many more locations in Evanston, Naperville, Elgin, Lemont and additional suburbs!

With four exciting camps to mix and match, RAS Camps (by Right At School) allows families to build a summer experience that’s uniquely tailored to your child’s interests and your family’s busy schedule — all at convenient school locations across Chicago and the suburbs.

RAS offers a summer-long, full- or half-day Summer Camp, as well as three half-day Specialty Camps focused on a specific topic, like soccer, art, or engineering with  LEGO® bricks!

A summer of adventure close to home

RAS Camps provides a structured yet fun-filled summer camp experience designed to keep kids active, engaged and excited to learn. Each week features hands-on projects and activities designed around exciting themes, called Adventure Weeks, such as:

  • Imagination Island — Campers design and build their own island, learning about sea creatures and ecology
  • Planetary Pioneers — A space exploration week with hands-on activities about the planets and constellations
  • Wild & Wacky Art — A creative explosion of colors, textures and fun art projects
  • Carnival Creators — Campers work together to design their very own summer carnival

“It’s the classic day camp experience,” says Yesenia Rocha, Outreach Manager at Right At School. “You get a mix of outdoor fun, water games, arts and crafts, group fitness and Adventure Week activities that are so fun, kids won’t even realize they’re learning.”

Every day includes outdoor games, arts & crafts, STEM challenges, team-building activities and plenty of water fun — whether it’s sprinklers, water balloon battles.

Plus, with activities like journaling and relaxation time, kids also get moments to wind down and recharge.

In addition to full- or half-day Summer Camp, RAS offers the following half-day Specialty Camps:

  • Brick Builders with LEGO® Bricks: This action-packed STEM camp is a nonstop adventure where kids team up with friends to tackle epic LEGO® challenges, dream up big ideas, and have a blast every step of the way.
  • Soccer MVPs: Your young MVP will break into small groups with peers and receive one-by-one coaching from a skilled soccer instructor — with daily small-team scrimmages to put their skills to the test
  • Masterpiece Makers: Through drawing, painting, sculpture and other hands-on media, we’ll explore the elements of design and art — line, color, shape, patterns, and textures — and create our own take-home masterpieces every day.

Specialty Camps can be combined with half-day Summer Camp for a full-day of enriching fun.

Who will love this camp?

  • Curious kids who love variety! If your child enjoys trying new activities, RAS Camps  offer a mix of sports, science, art and outdoor play
  • Social butterflies and new friends in the making! Since camps are held at local schools, many campers meet new friends from their area or even see familiar faces from school
  • First-time campers and younger kids! The familiar school setting and friendly, experienced staff make this camp a great choice for kids of all ages
  • Parents who want flexibility! With full-day, half-day and free before & after care, RAS makes summer planning easy

What parents need to know

  • Flexible scheduling: Full-day and half-day options available, plus complimentary before and after care to make drop-off and pickup stress-free
  • Ages served: Most camps welcome rising kindergartners through fifth grade, with select locations offering middle school options
  • A familiar and safe environment: Camps take place at local schools, where kids feel comfortable and safe. In case of bad weather, kids have access to indoor spaces like gyms and classrooms

Another reason families love RAS Camps? Kids are often with teachers and staff from their own schools.

“A lot of the camp counselors will be actual teachers from the school,” Rocha explains. “We try to employ school staff first, so kids are often seeing familiar faces, which makes them feel comfortable.”
