Got an Active Child? Let Them Play It All at Canlan Sports Camp

A summer of soccer, basketball, volleyball, football and much more is waiting for Chicagoland kids ages 5-12 in Libertyville and Lake Barrington, Illinois.

Picture this: Kids racing across a soccer field in giant inflatable bubbles, tumbling through bounce houses, and testing their teamwork in a glow-in-the-dark laser tag match. It’s all part of Canlan Sports’ Sports Camp, a high-energy summer experience in Libertyville and Lake Barrington where kids can try a variety of activities.

“People really enjoy our camp because of the variety of sports,” says Nicole Interrante, General Manager. “We have multiple full-sized soccer fields — plus there’s volleyball, basketball and more. It’s an all-in-one experience”

From water slides and pickleball to obstacle courses and team challenges, this camp is packed with action — and it’s all designed to meet kids where they are, regardless of skill level.

Canlan Sports offers a wide range of sports and activities

  • Every day is different: Kids rotate through a variety of sports, games and team-building activities. “We’re able to adjust on the fly,” Interrante says.
  • Unique experiences: Beyond sports like soccer, volleyball, basketball, football and baseball, kids get to try pickleball, laser tag and water games. Bubble soccer is a hit in particular: “Kids love it because they can bump into each other in a safe way,” Interrante says. “We started it last year, and it’s quite popular.”
  • Not just sports: Camp includes crafts and science experiments as a fun break. Kids have made their own slime, built kaleidoscopes and created ice cream from scratch. Outdoor and indoor spaces: The Libertyville location offers both indoor and outdoor play areas, while Lake Barrington’s camp is fully indoors, making weather a non-issue.

What sorts of kids would love Canlan Sports Camp

Ages 5-12 are welcome — no prior sports experience is needed.

  • Beginners and experienced athletes alike: “We split kids into groups by age and tailor the sport to them,” she explains. Kids learn skills and play in practice matches.
  • Co-ed and inclusive: “We’re very inclusive,” Interrante adds. “Kids don’t have to be athletes. They just want to come and have some fun and be on the sports turf and court all day long. That’s who we’re looking for.”

Why families keep coming back to Canlan Sports

“Parents appreciate the flexibility of our camps,” shares Interrante. “They love that they can plan vacations around our camps and still attend.”

  • Year-round connections: Many kids stay involved beyond camp, she adds, signing up for sports leagues and birthday parties because they loved the experience.
  • Engaged counselors: “Our camp counselors are very engaged with our campers, and they’re playing with them all day long.”
  • A happy, active summer: “Kids leave camp happy,” she adds. “Parents tell us they come back because the kids are happy to be here.”
